NW ACDA Members on Dallas ACDA '25

We were SO thrilled to see so many friendly NW ACDA faces in Dallas! Here are a few photos and quotes from conference attendees!

Craig Hella Johnson’s Keynote address was as impactful as all the choirs.

It was interesting to watch the percussion section of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra exchange large and larger bass drums between the Bernstein and the Verdi…very effective as a result.

Jazz night was great; congrats to Vijay Singh and Central Washington University, plus Jennifer Barnes and the honor jazz choir treated us to a live version of Gene Puerling’s “One More Time, Chuck Corea,” a unique treat! - Dr. Jim Jirak, ID

It was great being able to go with Oregon State's Student Chapter of ACDA as a big group! We were able to strengthen our relationships with each other, all while learning more about our future profession. Go Beavs! - Brenda Olvera, OR

I enjoyed talking with teachers and parents who had traveled to see their children perform with their regular ensembles or with the honor choirs. Their pride was palpable and inspiring!

Thank you for hosting the evening reception. It was wonderful to see so many college students taking in the sights and sounds of the week. They inspired me! - Kendra Friar, OR

Lauren Whittem’s session on aural skills was awesome. Learned about the Eastman method. - Kelia Fields, WA

I know my singers had an enriching, educational week, rehearsing with 300 of the best high school singers in the nation. - Logan Kropp, MT
