RSS Student Session: Using Repertoire for Curricular Assessment
Session Description
This session will focus on utilizing repertoire of varying voicings and levels to create student learning outcomes and assessments. We will explore strategies relating to the National Core Arts Standards in Music, applications to the edTPA, and student teaching evaluation.
Clinician Bio
Sandra Babb is Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education and Conductor of Bella Voce at Oregon State University, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in choral methods, vocal pedagogy, conducting, and curricular foundations in music education. Dr. Babb is an active conductor, clinician, and adjudicator throughout the United States, and she has presented at state, regional, and national conferences of ACDA and NAfME. She has served on the Steering Committee for National ACDA as the Honor Choir Co-Chair, and she also currently serves as the Oregon ACDA Chair for Women’s Choirs.
Maya Adams is a senior Music Education major at Pacific Lutheran University, where she student conducts the university Chapel Choir and Knight’s Chorus. She also serves as president of the PLU student chapter of ACDA and is a member of the Choir of the West. She looks forward to continuing her position as collegiate representative and creating more opportunities for future conductors and educators.
