St. John's Cathedral (Episcopal), a beautiful neo-gothic cathedral set on a hill in Spokane, Washington, seeks a Director of Music Ministry to work in collaboration with the Cathedral Organist. We value our history of excellent choir and instrumental music in worship, as well as a tradition of concerts that reach the Spokane community. The Music Director will lead our 30 member choir, including paid choral scholars. A ten-month position, responsibilities include conducting the choir for Sunday morning worship and other services, weekly rehearsals, participation in weekly staff meeting, and planning music (hymns and anthems) across the program year. We hope to build on the strength of the current choir and grow the ministry. Join us in worshiping the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Seattle, WA - Artistic Director, Choral Arts Northwest (posted here 1-21-2020) The engagement will begin in July, 2021. Weekly hours may vary based on the performance schedule. Seattle, WA - Amazing Grace Spiritual Center (Ballard) (posted here 12-21-19)

Directing a 30 voice adult mixed choir.

The duties include:

Coordinate the Choir rehearsal and performance schedule in Collaboration with the Music Director and Ministers.

The choir year is September through June. The choir performs roughly once a month, including Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday.

Directs all choir performances or arranges a suitable substitute.

Selects choir repertoire in collaboration with Music Director and Pulpit Minister for Sunday Worship services.

Rehearses the choir on Thursday evenings, 7-9:15, and leads additional rehearsals as needed.

Provides charts and part recordings as needed for choir rehearsals and the band.

Co-produces an annual Choir Fundraiser in the Spring.

Leads a skill building Saturday workshop in September.

Collaborates with choir leadership for a holiday party and end of the season party.


Pay is $80-100 per rehearsal and $125 per Sunday worship performance, depending on experience.

Tualatin, OR - Tualatin United Methodist Church (posted here 7-1-19)
Tualatin United Methodist Church is seeking a pianist. Worship services are 10:00 on Sunday mornings preceded by rehearsal with the music leadership team at 8:45. During the school year the chancel choir rehearses on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:00. Tualatin UMC is a Progressive congregation and part of the Reconciling Ministries of the Cascadia Conference. We balance use of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs, while anthems cover all genres. The wage is $20-$25 per hour.
