Redmond, WA - St. Jude Catholic Church - Music Director - 11 a.m. Gospel and Contemporary Style

St. Jude Parish seeks a leader for its 11am Sunday Gospel & Contemporary style music choir of 30-35 volunteer members and 4 paid instrumentalists. The Director provides leadership and training to choir, works closely with the pastor/presider in creating prayerful, vibrant, spirit-filled liturgies. Experience in directing and participating in a liturgical choir, highly knowledgeable about Gospel and Contemporary music, proven leadership abilities.  Academic degree or other formal training in music, liturgy, or ministry preferred.  Competency in one or more musical instruments.  10 hour/week position, 10 months/year with possibility of adding hours and other ministry responsibilities in future DOE.  Salary amount: $10,000/year.

Towson, MD - Director of Choral Activities

Towson University Department of Music: Director of Choral Activities.  Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-rack. Choral conductor with excellent teaching and recruiting skills. Conduct, coordinate and administer Towson choral ensembles, both auditioned and non-auditioned.  Regional recruiting of qualified students. Develop and sustain strong relationships with the local, regional and national choral community, through school visits, workshop presentations, and guest conducting. Engage in scholarship/creative activity and service. Function as a voice division member, including adjudicating incoming auditions and juries. Interdisciplinary experience or interest is a plus.  Evidence or interest in securing external funding is preferred.  Additional duties, commensurate with qualifications, may include: ensembles, applied conducting, studio and/or classroom teaching.  Ten-month appointment. Compensated summer teaching possible. Starting date: August 2012.Earned doctorate in music. College/University level teaching experience desired.  Demonstrated potential as a choral conductor, teacher, and recruiter. Portland, OR - Choir Director Opening (posted here July 28, 2011)

St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church is seeking a part-time Choir Director to begin in the fall of 2011.
The choir director will work collegially with the organist/music director who also directs
the hand bell choir.  Both positions report to the Vicar.

St. Gabriel's is a transitional size church, in Portland, Oregon, with a part-time adult choir made up of
dedicated volunteers.  The choir holds weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings and sings
during the 10:00 Sunday service twice per month.

Longview, WA - Longview Community Church (posted here May 30, 2011)

We are seeking a part-time music director to collaborate with the senior pastor in supporting and coordinating the entire church music ministry, with specific responsibilities in the traditional service to select congregational hymns, prepare musical liturgy (i.e., choral introits, benedictions, etc.), and rehearse and conduct the Temple Singers for anthems and other special music needs.   The music director supports the existing worship team in the contemporary/blended service, but has no direct responsibilities for this service except as directed by the senior pastor.

Resources available to the music director include a full SATB choir (the “Temple Singers”), sanctuary pipe organ, piano, Yamaha Clavinova, full complement of Schulmerich hand bells and chimes, available soloists and instrumentalists, large music library, professional choir accompanist, professional organist, and a contemporary worship team.  Handel’s “Messiah” with full choir and orchestra has been presented yearly to the community for many decades.
