Mt. Vernon, WA, September, 2010

LaVenture Middle School posted but did not fill a fantastic Choir/Drama/General Music (Yamaha Keyboard lab, World Drumming) full time position. At this point in time, the position is re-posted and will remain open until we find a fabulous match. In the meantime, we will fill the position as a year-long substitute. PLEASE, do you have any recommendations for a substitute? Our priority is a top notch vocal director; we can offer great support on the General Music end of things. We'd appreciate your help in sreading the word!

Portland, OR, July 31, 2010:

ViVoce (Portland Revels’ 18-voice women’s a cappella ensemble) seeks a music director (a part-time, paid position) for the 2010-2011 year.  We rehearse on Monday evenings,  beginning in mid-September, 2010, and continuing until June 20, 2011, with concerts in January and June, 2011.  Compensation for this period is approximately $2500.  Repertoire includes Renaissance and some medieval music, and traditional folk songs and other material arranged for women’s voices.  ViVoce’s Music Director works closely with the Managing Director, who has administrative responsibility and who shares artistic responsibility.  A detailed description of the group, the role of the Music Director, repertoire, and details concerning rehearsal and performance schedule, will be provided on request.  Recordings of the group are available.

 Artistic Director of Choral Music
The Columbia Chorale of Oregon is a dynamic choir of adults based in St. Helens, Oregon.  Celebrating their 10th year, this choir has performed in the Portland area, the Grotto, SW Washington, north coastal area and Carnegie Hall in New York.  The Chorale is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic new artistic director to lead us into our 10th Anniversary concert season and beyond.

The choir performs a minimum of 3 concert sets/7 concerts per year, performing both secular and sacred music with a focus on classical. At this time the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings.  This is a contract position and an accompanist is provided.
  
Qualified candidates possess the following:
-- Wide knowledge of classical choral literature, including major works and pieces for pro/am skill levels.
-- Proven ability to teach adults quality vocal skills in a choral setting
-- Excellent conducting technique
-- Experience in directing children and/or collaboration with the public school system
-- Collaborative spirit
-- Experience working as part of a not-for-profit organization

Seeking part-time Choir Accompanist -Wilsonville, Ore.
Meridian United Church of Christ in Wilsonville, Ore. seeks a pianist to fill the position of Choir Accompanist for the adult choir, directed by Dr. Gil Seeley. We are a multi-racial, multi-cultural, inter-generational, open and affirming, accessible church seeking to grow in openness to God's embrace of us all.
The accompanist should display proficiency on the piano, including sight reading skills. The accompanist shall play at all rehearsals and accompany the adult choir in worship as well as occasional solos and small ensembles. The choir rehearses at 8:30 AM on Sunday morning, and sings at a 10:00 AM service and additional seasonal events. There are no rehearsals during the week. Special rehearsals may be called for as needed. Term each year is September to mid-June. Position is open as of September 1st.
